Skin Type Test - What is Your Skin Type?

Skin Type Test - What is Your Skin Type?
Determining your skin type is absolutely necessary to ensure proper care and treatment of your skin. Knowing your skin type will help you pick the right product s for your skin and helps you to provide your skin with the best care.
There are 5 basic skin types. They are,
* Dry Skin
* Normal Skin
* Oily Skin
* Combination Skin
* Sensitive Skin
Take this Skin Type Test to know your skin type.
1
Wash Your Face. Wash with a gentle cleanser and pat dry. Remove make-up. This cleans away oils and dirt that may have accumulated during your day, giving your skin a fresh start. Do not over wash though.

2
Wait an hour. During this time, your skin should return to its natural state, the characteristics of which will determine your skin type. Act normally and, please, don't touch your face.

3
Dab your face with a tissue. Pay attention to the 'T-zone'--the area of your forehead and nose.

4

Determine your skin type. Skin falls into four types--normal, oily, dry and combination.
* Normal skin shows neither oil nor flaking skin. It should feel supple and smooth. If you have it, consider yourself lucky :)

* Oily skin is characterized by the grease on the tissue. It is also common for a person with oily skin to have large poresand a shine.

* Dry skin may feel taut or show flakes of dead skin. It is associated with small pores. Moisturizing is important for this skin type.

* Combination skin is most common. It exhibits traits of all three of the above skin types. Usually, the skin is oily in the T-zone and normal to dry elsewhere.

How to get a flawless skin in 7 days ( that's a week right ??, lol just checking ..

Have you ever thought, "I've got blackheads!" or "I want to get rid of my pimples?" Ever wondered why that girl has got such flawless skin, and you don't? Don't envy her. You can have flawless skin as well if you follow these steps...
Determine your skin type. Is it oily, dry, normal, or combination of either? In order to do this, wash your face, let it dry and leave your face completely untouched for an hour. Inspect by dabbing a tissue between your nose and cheek, called the T-zone:
  • Normal skin shows neither oil nor flaking skin. It should feel supple and smooth. If you have it, consider yourself lucky!
  🕳 Oily skin is characterized by the grease on the tissue. It is also common for a person with oily skin to have large pores and a bit of a shine.

 ðŸ•³ Dry skin may feel taut or show flakes of dead skin. It is associated with small pores. Moisturizing is important for this skin type.
  • Combination skin is most common. It exhibits traits of all three of the above skin types. Usually, the skin is oily in the T-zone and normal to dry elsewhere.

Invest in a cleanser, toner, moisturizer and facial scrub suited to your skin type. (If you're young there's no need for a facial scrub.) You might have to test out a couple of brands before you find the perfect one. Talk to an associate at a make up or skin care counter. You will be able to test different formulas. They may even offer samples so you can try a product out for a day or two.
  • Try to get cleanser, toner, and moisturizer that is non-comedogenic. This just means that it won't clog your pores, leading to pimples.
  • If you have a bad case of acne or any other skin problem like eczema, see a dermatologist. They will give you the specific treatment you need. It's likely that any medication you get from a dermatologist will be prescription strength, too, meaning it will be stronger.
Wash off your makeup. Before going to bed remember to take off any makeup you put on. Washing your face may do the trick, but some makeup may require makeup remover.
  • Don't be lazy about taking off makeup. If you're prone to leaving your makeup on or forgetting to wash your face, invest in some wipes and keep them close to your bed. That way, all you need to do is swipe your face when you're dead tired .
  • Exercise. Exercising helps you metabolize. A walk with your dog or some yoga lessons do make a difference! Healthy skin is just another part of a healthy body
  • Sleep. Make sure you get your 8 hours every night, perhaps a bit more if you are a teenager. Being well rested gives your body more energy to go about its daily routine, and leaves you feeling even better. Flawless skin doesn't have big dark circles.
    • Do this every day, and you will soon begin to see the results.
    • Signed

Reason for the darkening of the knuckles and elbows

The knuckles are the area that is exposed to vigorous friction, thanks to the extreme use that we put it through. Be it while writing or just sitting on a chair the knuckles as well as elbows are always used the most. Apart from that the exposure of the skin to sun aggravates the situation further. The main reason behind dark knuckles is the melanin that forms in the body which causes hyper pigmentation. The reason for melanin formation is over exposure to sun’s ultraviolet rays. The dead cells also accumulate in the body and causes darkening of knuckles
A good scrub: A good exfoliation is very important to get rid of dark knuckles as the main reason behind the them are accumulation of dead skin as previously discussed, therefore a good scrub can help you to remove all the unnecessary pile up of dead skin.
Ingredients:
1.Sugar and lemon juice
Method:
Mix sugar and lemon juice and apply this on your fingers and scrub it in circular motion for around five to ten minutes. This has to be carried out regularly for a few days to achieve the desired result. You can also try cutting a lemon into half and rubbing it over the skin for some time prior to bath. This also ensures whitening the skin.
2. Bleach the skin naturally:  The dark knuckles can be bleached naturally by applying lemon juice and honey mixture for about ten minutes daily. The lemon and honey combination works well as a bleach and helps in lightening the skin.
3. Gram flour pack for lightening the knuckles:
Gram flour -1 tbsp.
Raw milk- 2 tbsp.
Lime juice – 3 drops
Mix these ingredients in a bowl thoroughly and apply it on the affected area and leave until it dries and wash it away. This treatment has to be done for around one month and you will be able to see a visible difference. This pack helps in getting rid of the tan and making the skin brighter.
4. Almond oil: Almond oil is really good for skin. The oil can be massaged on the knuckles and left for ten minutes. If done regularly this will help in reducing the pigmentation and make the knuckles lighter.

5. Vitamin E and milk cream: Get Vitamin E capsules, it is easily available in all drugstores. Take one Vitamin E capsule and into it add 1 teaspoon of milk cream. Apply this mixture on the knuckles as well as other rough areas of the skin. Massage well for about ten minutes. This is a very good remedy for dark knuckles and it moisturizes the skin.
6. Pamper your hands: Take some warm water, put some baking soda, glycerin as well as rose water. Now soak your hands in this water for minimum 5 minutes. This will help in decreasing the dark knuckles.
7. Pumice stone: Pumice stone is very much a part of a manicure and it is mainly to scrub away the dead skin from the knuckles. You can use pumice stone daily while taking bath to rub your knuckles, this will help in lightening the area.

Wizkid newest babymama

Ok sooo I was looking around for a cute story I could start this round with, I was on the look out for a story on a lighter note .., and a non skincare related too lol .,then I stumbled on this Wizkid allegedly "Pregnantfied" a certain Binta Diamond Diallo...this news got to Flakies1 on trend on Monday evening about stories making the rounds online that the pop star had 'scored a second child' making this lady his second baby mama .,,

There's been Rumors that Tania broke up with Wizkid a while ago but both parties agreed to be friendly towards each other.
Nonetheless, she kept her distance from him and missed a lot of his events and performances over the Christmas holidays.
She went on vacation with her friends in Dubai during his industry night event. Wizkid was probably trying to win her back when he tweeted "T baby forever" sometime ago, perhaps he was trying to work things out...

Nevertheless I wish him well..and hope he stay off random girls's sharp fists..#gurlsarenotsmilling

A LIFETIME OF STRESS,....FLAKIES WILL LOVE YOU TO READ THIS !!!!!!

Is cultural stress creating a mess in your life? Or worse, on your skin? Read on to learn how to alleviate the damaging effects of cultural stress.

Is your lifestyle making you sick? According to a new study by Dr. Howard Murad, a new type of stress may be negatively impacting health - especially skin health - cultural stress. Coined by Dr. Murad himself, "cultural stress is a pervasive stress" that thrives in the jam-packed, multi-tasking, overly-busy lifestyle of most adults today.

Even more alarming, Dr. Murad's findings indicate that cultural stress can also impact children and, is often initiated by parents, even during pregnancy. New parents worry about their child's pre-schools, elementary schools, play groups and extra-curricular activities to such an extent they pass on this anxiety to their children. Coupled with the added pressures on parents to earn more money to provide opportunities for their children, as well as the constant demand to work more and longer hours, this type of stress infiltrates all levels of the family.

"According to a U.S. Government report, Americans now put in more hours on the job - an average of 47 hours per week - than workers in any other industrial nation." And, Murad reports, the endless opportunities for entertainment, activities and lifestyle now afforded to most people add to this stress, rather than detract from it, "75% of people surveyed believe their jobs are more stressful now than a generation ago".

Seemingly simple decisions, such as choosing a restaurant for the family dinner, are also becoming critical factors in cultural stress. With an alarming number of families eating out on a daily basis, parents must face the added burden of picking a restaurant which will not only meet budget constraints, but appeal to all members of the family. The result? Parents frequently find themselves opting for the ease and convenience of fast food. Murad goes on to point out that The American College of Nutrition reports that over "46% of expenditure on food items was spent on unhealthy food items".

An even deeper implication of increased cultural stress is the effect this stress has on skin. Dr. Murad notes that stress causes the body to produce stress-related hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol. In addition, certain skin conditions can flare-up in the presence of stress such as rosacea and acne. Stress may also cause an increased growth in facial hair, especially among adult women. To combat this type of stress, Murad goes on to recommend topical treatments, as well as lifestyle changes to help alleviate the effects of stress on the skin such as sun block, vitamins and supplements, meditation, exercise, adequate sleep and relaxation.
